Here\'s what Charlena\'s comment would look like if she appreciated the value of punctuation: \"To all those who complained about the kids, let me just say this: I have 5 kids and trust me that is exactly what they are: kids. And they will do what it takes to be that; if they cry, they cry; if they laugh, so what? And babies, well, if they do cry we need to be considerate and leave till the bay is ok, and if the other people don\'t like [it,] then the hell with them. Hell, these people were kids at one time, so let them deal with it--its only a 1.50 movie. Hell, buy the dvd or go watch it online. All you ignorant folks and it don\'t matter what you say. I meant what i said.\"

First of all, I want to preface that I love children. I don\\\'t have any of my own yet, but I have nephews and nieces and I even volunteer every year to help with foster children of Wake County. I love them all!! But when it comes to a movie theater, I think there needs to be more consideration when it comes to bringing your very young children with you. My wife and I recently went to see The Happening at 10:00pm at night...let me repeat just so everyone heard me...10:00 PM AT NIGHT!! We had the utmost pleasure of having a family of 6 or more sit next to us with a little 4 or 5 year old girl that literally talked (very loud I might add) the entire time. By the way, The Happening is NOT and I repeat NOT a movie to take a little girl or boy for that matter to EVER...I mean come on people...Do you want your child to grow up and become a murderer one day or end up in the psych ward at Holly Hill? Get an education and learn that is not WISE!!! The Happening is extremely disturbing for anyone to see much less a little child. I mean for goodness sake, within the first 5 minutes a lady is taking out her 6 inch hair pin and graphically shoving it into her own neck and then you have a few people shooting themselves in their own head and showing the blood dripping out as they lay lifeless on the ground!!!!! Ok. Whew. That felt better. Now, in addition to that unbelievable situation, there was also a family that decided to sit directly in front of us that had a 1 year old child and a 3 month old child with them (again this is 10:00pm at night...don\\\' t you think it\\\'s past these kids\\\' bed times?!?) Now I love to hear children laughing. These kids by no means were laughing though. It was more like crying and whining and any other noise you could think of that would keep ANYONE from enjoying a movie. Now, as if you would think that was enough, get ready, cuz it\\\'s gets more interesting. Directly behind us a family of 4 sits down, and guess what...yep, you guessed it...2 of the 4 are children at or below the age of 3. Now I feel like we live in an area of fairly well educated people. We have many universities in the area. In fact, if this statistic still remains, we have the most PHD\\\'s in the entire country. Of course, I don\\\'t know if that is still true. That being said, I would think there would be more common sense when it comes to situations like this... unfortunately common sense seems so uncommon these days. Amazing isn\\\'t it that I would put so much feeling into just a simple theater review, but I am just sick of hearing all the postings of people complaining about other people complaining about them. Just get a clue and maybe next time pay for a baby sitter. All in all, I would say Blue Ridge Theater is a great place to go. Great prices at only 1.50 per person!! You can\\\'t beat it. Just remember...it IS called Blue Ridge Theater, NOT Blue Ridge Day Care (or Night Care for that matter).

I LOVE Blue Ridge movie theater! I am NOT a fan of petty patrons complaining about kids at kid movies during daytime hours and I'm NOT EVEN A PARENT! People ! You were kids at some point! Realize that kids want to watch movies just as much as you do, maybe more. Don't rob them of this joy! Of course they're going to laugh at a funny movie, its FUNNY! If you don't want the bother of kids, don't go to a kids' movie!

You know, I think Blue Ridge is a great concept and really the only way to go for cheap movies. People have gotten shot, stabbed, and robbed up there on occasion.I don't necessarily feel unsafe there, and I think they've done a lot in the past couple years to make it better, but still there are problems. It's one of those theaters where you go in and watch a movie and there's always someone who's inconsiderate. Brings a baby into the theater and then when the baby cries they don't take the baby out of the theater. They leave them in. And giggling can be annoying too, by the way. I get annoyed with people talking behind me when I'm trying to watch the movie, and kids can be really bad, but the worst part is the parents don't do anything about it. Then you have people kicking your seats. One time when I was there this couple behind me kept saying what was happening on the screen. "OH! He just got shot in the head!". This type of stuff happens every time I go to this theater, but according to these reviews maybe the management is doing something about it.
Overall, though, if you don't mind that stuff or if you can ignore it, you can't beat the price.

Blue Ridge is a great place to see a movie cheaply that you missed when it was in wide release. Movies are meant to be seen on a big screen-- way better than waiting for a DVD.

And... by the way.....A 17-month-old infant has no business being in a movie theater.

Just a warning to parents! This place, all of a sudden, is not kid friendly anymore and it is not posted. We used to love this theater which we have been going to since we moved to Raleigh in 1999 for it's low prices and decent sanitation, despite the outragous fare prices. The staff has always been friendly and accomidating until now. Today however we were dismissed from the theater because and I quote Mr. Chaffer of Blue Ridge "other patrons on the other side of the theater complained". I guess it was one of the other four people
in the theater with us at 4 in the afternoon. The complaint that "she was giggling", she is
my 17 month old son was ridiculous. I replied to the worker, who made it clear he is not the manager, that if the theater does not allow children they have to post it. His reply
was "children are allowed" to which my reply is if you allow children you must allow childish behavior such as "giggling". To patrons desiring a quiet evening at the theater with no nteruptions it should be obivious that you will not be getting the "Met" for $1.50 at 4 in the afternoon at an animated movie. You really get what you pay for and that is why
we have always chosen Blue Ridge 14 and why we choose the afternoon so that my son can see a movie, his reward for working so hard in school, and no one is there. I always try to respect other patrons. I feel very discriminated against and my oldest son, 6, was very upset at having to leave. When I asked to see the manager I was told that he was "on break" and could not deal with patrons I suppose, nice priorities! I replied that I would wait. After sitting for some time the worker then came back to notify me that he had just been informed that the manger would be out for two more hours! Wow! No manager on duty for
going on three hours! I was however given the phone number for the district manager in Raleigh whom I called and left several messages for and am still waiting for a reply.
